Understanding jHYPER

What is jHYPER?

jHYPER is an auto-compounding strategy built on Blast, that allows depositors to earn yield on their HYPER tokens.

jHYPER works by utilizing 3 separate protocols:

  • Hyperlock

  • Thruster

  • Dinero’s Hidden Hand

These integrations allow users to collect yield automatically, without the hassle of having to swap tokens, lock positions, or participate in vote incentive rounds.

The goal of the strategy is to provide the opportunity for each jHYPER token to become backed by more underlying vlHYPER tokens over time.

Structure of jHYPER: Dual Vault System

The jHYPER strategy comes in two forms:

  1. A non-tokenized auto-compounder

  2. A liquid staking token (LST)

The non-tokenized, auto-compounding jHYPER strategy will have higher yield on average because it is not subject to liquidity incentives, but at the cost of composability. This process is fully explained in this section.

The LST wjHYPER auto-compounds, but is subject to liquidity incentives which may lead to slightly lower yield than the non-tokenized strategy. However, wjHYPER tokens have the innate benefit of being fully composable, meaning they can be used outside of the Jones protocol or swapped on the open market at any time.
